Located in an area of twentieth-century neo-Georgian houses, the linear plan of this 5,700 SF house responds to the long, narrow, and sloping site. The house is positioned as far as practical towards the northern property line, maximizing the private outdoor space to the south. Most of the rooms face the private exterior space and are sunny throughout the day. The entry, halfway between the first and second floor levels, descends a broad stair to the main floor. On the upper floor are two children's bedrooms connected to the master suite by a bridge spanning the living room. A ground level contains a family/play room.
