This 5,000 SF early 20th century brick residence was originally built as a caretaker’s gate “lodge,” located at the main entrance to the estate and grounds. In addition to the house, there was an attached greenhouse and a garage.
After a conditions assessment, the house’s exterior envelope was restored, including new slate roof and copper gutters, cleaned and repointed brick, repaired windows and storms, and general repair and repainting of wood trim and rafters. The original greenhouse was rebuilt.
The formal Entry Gate was also restored, including rebuilt decorative metal work, cleaned and repointed brick and limestone, new automatic gate system and lighting.
