This 10,000 SF brick and granite Colonial Revival style was completely restored over a period of years. Slate roofs, copper gutters and flashings, elaborate classical wood columns and balustrades were all repaired, restored or replaced. The expansive brick and granite facades were cleaned and repointed, original wood windows restored and new exterior storms integrated.
On the interior, elaborate plaster reliefs, intricate mahogany and oak paneling and decorative paint finishes were assessed and restored. HVAC systems were sensitively integrated while preserving original architectural details.
Sited on a sloped 2.5 acre site, a new landscape design was completed incorporating a garage built adjacent to the house in a sympathetic traditional style. A formal “oval” with fountain, walkways, stone retaining walls and arbors occupy the space created by the existing house façade and the new garage.
