This 9,000 SF residence in the 1920s French Norman Revival style was restored and renovated inside and out. Stucco walls and slate roofs were repaired and restored as were original wood windows and doors. Much of the detailed interior woodwork, which had been painted, was carefully stripped and refinished to expose rich natural wood finishes.
Previously renovated kitchen areas and smaller utility rooms were combined to form a generous eat-in kitchen with new French doors to an existing interior courtyard. The 3rd floor attic area was expanded, taking advantage of the existing roof structure. Trusses and skylights were added to brighten family gathering spaces and home office areas.
The existing site and landscape were redefined creating a new pool area overlooking a tennis court, utilizing existing site grades. Additional French doors were added from interior living spaces to exterior terraces, garden and pool areas.
