Situated overlooking a golf course and pond with the ocean beyond, this small 1970s vacation house has been transformed into a 4,500 SF year round family retreat. In successive renovations and additions, the original house has expanded to include a large open plan on the main level, including kitchen, pantry, dining, living areas with outdoor wood decks, as well as a large master bedroom suite with bath and walk in closets. The basement level has been opened up through excavation on three sides to include sun filled family gathering spaces, guest bedrooms, baths and a large home office area with an intimate outdoor terrace. The house combines radiant heat and high velocity air conditioning for environmental comfort. All new cedar shingle roof and walls and all new doors and windows were installed in the popular island vernacular.
Extensive site grading, stone retaining walls and latticed gates and garden walls surround a new 20ft by 40ft swimming pool with an elegant terrace of limestone pavers.
