During the first renovation of this vacation residence a “modern cottage” aesthetic was established to reflect the island’s casual vernacular and the owners’ lifestyle. Light bamboo floors, expansive glass areas, white wood trim and a soothing palette were carried through to the new renovations. Added to the subtle mix was natural quarter sawn white oak ceiling paneling in the expanded Family Room and Home Office areas, as well as custom millwork in the same material and finish. Polished nickel hardware, lighting and accessories punctuate the interiors. Existing art work and furniture were integrated with new and custom designed furniture. Custom rugs and lighting were added to reinforce themes of color, pattern and material. New bath and wet bar materials combine Imperial Danby, quarter sawn oak and polished nickel accents.
The master Bedroom Suite was enlarged and the ceiling was extended up into the roof structure to create a more open volume. Two sets of French doors open out to an expanded exterior deck with a water view beyond.
